Session Speakers

Dr. Jack Hughes, Lead Pastor/Teacher
Anchor Bible Church of Louisville

Jack grew up in the mountains of Idaho and later met his wife, Lisa, while attending Boise State University. Jack and Lisa have been married since 1984, are parents of 3 grown children and now grandparents of five. Jack received his Masters of Divinity degree in expository preaching from The Master’s Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree in expository preaching from Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido, CA. Jack is passionate about expository preaching, discipling men, and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Jack has over 30 years of pastoral experience, is a published author, and when time permits likes to work on his personal website aimed at helping equip preachers and Bible teachers at drivennails.com.
Pastor Jack will kick-off The Summer Sessions on Tuesday evening.

Josiah Young
Anchor Bible Church of Louisville

Josiah and his wife, Raahail, have been members of Anchor Bible Church since they moved to Louisville in 2018. Josiah is a part-time M.Div. seminary student with The Master’s Seminary, studying remotely under Pastor Jack as part of the Mentor Model program, and his local day job is in digital marketing and enterprise analytics with J&L Marketing.

The Lord saved Josiah as a teenager studying Jonah’s prayer of repentance and later formed his interest in teaching the Word while leading a weekly young men’s Bible study. Growing up in Georgia as the oldest of six children, the Lord moved Josiah to California in 2013 to study Biblical Languages at The Master’s University, where he graduated in 2016. That summer, he moved to Dubai to intern with Gulf Theological Seminary for two years. While there, he met and married Raahail, the administrative assistant at Redeemer Church of Dubai. They now share the more recent joy of raising their toddler, Micah. Josiah leads the Welcome Ministry here at Anchor, and he and Raahail have a heart for the church. He aspires to pastoral ministry, enjoying opportunities for expository preaching and seeking to equip the saints for the work of ministry through discipleship, hospitality, and service.
Josiah will be teaching the Wednesday evening session.

Carey Hardy, Senior Pastor
Twin City Bible Church

Carey graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in Pharmacy in 1977. In 1984 he sold his pharmacy to go on staff of a Baptist church in Texas as a Christian School Principal and Minister of Music. Carey moved to California in 1990 to study at The Master’s Seminary and graduated from there with a Master of Divinity degree.

From 1993 to 2006, he served on the pastoral staff at Grace Community Church in the Los Angeles area. During this time Carey was also an adjunct professor at The Master’s University and The Master’s Seminary. In October of 2006, Carey became the Senior Pastor of Twin City Bible Church.

At Twin City he provides most of the expository preaching in the corporate services. In addition, Carey is an adjunct professor at The Expositor’s Seminary (on the campus of Twin City). With a heart for mission work in Italy, Carey serves as a board member for The Italian Theological Academy.
Carey will be teaching on Thursday, for the men on Friday, and for our Sunday service.

Pam Hardy
Twin City Bible Church

Pam was born and raised in a Christian home in Houston, Texas.  Christ graciously called her to salvation while she was in her first year of college.  She met her husband Carey at the University of Houston while she was pursuing a degree in nursing, and they were married in 1976.  After graduating from college in 1977, Pam worked as a nurse in cardiac intensive care, and then for two physicians in private practice. In 1983, with the birth of her first child, Pam left her nursing career behind and began a full-time career as a mother.

One of Pam’s greatest joys is studying the Word of God and imparting its truth to other women. For several years Pam taught in the track for wives at the annual Shepherds’ Conference at Grace Community Church in Los Angeles. She has continued speaking periodically at retreats and conferences for women across the United States as well as in other countries around the world.

Pam is privileged to be a pastor’s wife and she and her husband have had the opportunity to minister in several churches in Texas and California.  She currently serves at Carey’s side, loving the people he shepherds at Twin City Bible Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her main involvement through the years has been serving in the various women’s ministries of the church and playing piano on the worship team.  Pam’s hobbies include reading, writing, and music, and she is blessed with four adult children and three grandchildren.
Pam will be teaching the ladies during the Saturday session.
