The Summer Sessions - a week of concentrated Bible teaching, treats, food, and fellowship to help you stay focused on the Lord until ministries start back up in the fall.


Hosted by Anchor Bible Church in Louisville, Kentucky

Session Speakers


Dr. Jack Hughes, Lead Pastor/Teacher
Anchor Bible Church of Louisville

Jack grew up in the mountains of Idaho and later met his wife, Lisa, while attending Boise State University. Jack and Lisa have been married since 1984, are parents of 3 grown children and now grandparents of five. Jack received his Masters of Divinity degree in expository preaching from The Master’s Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree in expository preaching from Westminster Theological Seminary in Escondido, CA. Jack is passionate about expository preaching, discipling men, and equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Jack has over 30 years of pastoral experience, is a published author, and when time permits likes to work on his personal website aimed at helping equip preachers and Bible teachers at drivennails.com.

Anton Van Straaten, Counseling, Discipleship, and Evangelism Pastor
Anchor Bible Church of Louisville

Anton was born and raised in South Africa where he met and married his wife, Marietjie (pronounced Marie-key) in 2001. Anton and Marietjie are the parents of two grown daughters. After a successful career in medical and pharmaceutical fields, Anton relocated to Los Angeles in 2005 to attend The Master’s Seminary. Upon graduation with a Master of Divinity in 2009, he pursued full-time pastoral ministry. He has served in senior and associate pastoral roles in California and North Dakota. In 2024, both Anton and Marietjie became certified biblical counselors with ACBC. Anton enjoys discipling men, teaching, and marriage counseling. He also has a heart for foreign missions and local evangelism. In his free time, he enjoys fly-fishing and fine cuisine with the love of his life.
Anton will be teaching:

Dr. Bart Horton, Lead Pastor
Grace Bible Church of Hutchinson, KS

Dr. Bart Horton graduated from Pittsburg State University in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in Construction Engineering Technology hoping to use this skill on the mission field. He graduated in May of 2009 with a Masters of Divinity from The Master's Seminary. In 2011, after the door was closed to foreign missions, he joined the staff at Grace Bible Church in Hutchinson, KS. He also received his Doctor of Ministry from The Master's Seminary in 2022. He has been serving as the Lead Pastor at Grace Bible Church since 2016. He and his wife, Amy, share five children. 
Bart will be teaching:

Saturday - Second Coming as Direction for Sanctification, 1 Peter 2:11-12 The Holy War
Sunday - Second Coming as Motivation for Body Life, Hebrews 10:19-25 Some Assembly Required

Amy Horton
Grace Bible Church of Hutchinson, KS

Amy Horton is the supportive wife to Bart and spends much of her time serving her family, which includes their 5 children, Clive, Vera, Tali, Burton, and Hudson. Their family loves serving the saints at Grace Bible Church and reaching out to the unsaved in their community, too. Amy has a deeply hospitable heart and constantly opens her home to both families and single people, young and old, with her special, gentle way of helping each person feel so welcome and comfortable in her home. She enjoys homeschooling her children, walking the trails around their home, and caring for their animals (four ducks, three chickens, a cat, and a dog).
Amy will be teaching the ladies:
