If faith was a prevailing theme throughout chapter 5, it is the lack thereof that seems to permeate chapter 6. Jesus faces rejection in Nazareth, the disciples are prepared for rejection as they go out to minister, and we have a recollection of John the Baptist's death by Herod's decree... one who was intrigued by, but failed to believe in, John's preaching.
